Ever wanted to learn the art of being a notetaker in a TV writers’ room?

Screen Tasmania is very happy to be bringing industry professional Libby Butler for a one-day TV notetaking workshop.

This workshop will be available on a complimentary basis to a limited number of applicants who demonstrate an interest in TV notetaking in writers’ rooms and script coordination.

About the workshop!

Libby Butler’s TV Notetaking Workshop is a perfect combination of industry information, professional anecdotes and practical workshop on notetaking in a writers’ room. Emerging Screenwriters will learn the art of note-taking in TV writers rooms across a one-day workshop, and benefit not only from Libby’s extensive knowledge of writers rooms, but her research into what makes a good notetaker versus a bad one. Through the process of a mock writers’ room held during the workshop, emerging writers will gain practical experience in note-taking which aims to lift their understanding of the important role notetakers provide in a story room.

About Libby!

Libby Butler is a screenwriter/script producer/director and producer based in Victoria. Libby has been in the industry for over ten years, with writing credits including Neighbours, The Heights, most recently Surviving Summer. She has worked in writers’ rooms for Werner Film Productions, Northern Pictures, Fremantle Media and Matchnox among others. She got her start as a script coordinator and trainee script editor on Neighbours, which meant she took a LOT of notes. She knows the good ones versus the bad and wants to give a little of that knowledge to the up and comers in Tasmania.
