Screen Tasmania

New funding guidelines benefit Tasmanian content

We have updated our funding programs to provide greater support for Tasmania’s screen industry and broaden the range of projects that can access support.

The most significant change is the introduction of a non-recoupable grant of up to $50,000 through the redesigned Production Support program (previously Production Investment). We have developed this grant in response to changing viewer markets and to provide a platform for short-form online productions to seek support.

Larger productions can continue to access support of greater than $50,000 through as equity investment.

Increased maximum funding amounts are available through the Project Development program. Applicants can now apply for up to $20,000 for Intermediate stage development and $30,000 for the renamed Market-attached stage.

Under the Games Development program, applicants can request up to $20,000 at Conceptual Design stage and up to $50,000 for Production and Release.

The updated guidelines also reduce red tape for Tasmanian creators puts greater emphasis on the involvement of Tasmanian companies and Tasmanian key creatives in visiting productions.

The revised funding program guidelines are available on our Grants and Funding page and applications can be lodged online.
