About us

Screen Tasmania is responsible for supporting and developing the state’s film and television production and video game development industries.

Screen Tasmania is part of the Creative Industries, Sport and Visitor Economy division of the Department of State Growth.

Our division supports sector development, delivery of services, stimulate demand and provide funding. We are made up of:

The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery and Tasmanian Institute of Sport are also supported by the division.

What we do

We provide grants and equity investments in the development and production of Tasmanian screen projects including drama, documentaries, feature films, television series, online projects, video games and digital media, and provide direct support in the form of industry and professional development.

Screen Tasmania is guided by the Cultural and Creative Industries Act 2017 and the Cultural and Creative Industries Recovery Strategy: 2020 and Beyond.
