Screen Tasmania is hosting the inaugural Level Up Tasmania, a showcase of Tasmanian video games and game makers.

Level Up Tasmania is a 2-day expo aimed at promoting games that have been developed in the state or have had some level of significant Tasmanian contribution. It also aims to increase awareness of projects that are still in development, and showcase the level of work that is being achieved in Tasmania.

The event will be open to the public, and free to attend. The showcase will consist of 30 exhibitors.

Level Up Tasmania is an all ages event, and games that include graphic or mature content must not showcase these elements.

Each exhibitor will receive a 182cm trestle table with 1 or 2 monitors provided. Chairs for attendees will also be provided. If your game requires specific extra space or infrastructure, please list in the form below.

The exhibitor is required to provide the necessary hardware to run the game, including controllers and headphones where necessary, and console/PC to run the game.

Some signage will be provided with assets being requested once the applicant is successful.

The event will run at Princes Wharf 1 (PW1) in Hobart over two days:

Friday, 27 September 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
Saturday, 28 September 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Exhibiting your game/studio at Level Up is free, but will be subject to assessment in the following criteria before being accepted:

  • The extent that you can attend both days and maintain your designated booth
  • The level of completion of the project and interactivity
  • Whether the game/studio's involvement in Level Up contributes to promoting Tasmanian games and game makers
  • Content of the game and prospective/actual classification

You can submit more than one game for consideration in this form, but please complete a new application if applying under a different developer name/studio.

Applications  can be submitted through the Screen Tasmania SmartyGrants portal.

Applications are due Sunday, 18 August, 11:00 pm.

For any questions regarding this application form please contact Screen Tasmania's Industry Officer Oliver Potter.
